On 31st December 2025, the subsidiary of Ka Shui International Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 00822.HK) ("
Ka Shui Group"), namely Ka Shui Inno Tech (Huizhou) Company Limited, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing of the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences ("
Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry"). Both parties will focus on the national strategy for new material industry development, leveraging their respective advantages in industrial applications and cutting-edge scientific research. They will conduct comprehensive and in-depth cooperation across multiple dimensions, including magnesium alloy material development, lightweight technology, product design, and manufacturing technology, jointly promoting deep integration among industry, academia, and research, as well as the efficient transformation of scientific and technological achievements, to inject strong momentum into the innovative development of high-end manufacturing.
This cooperation marks a crucial step for Ka Shui Group in the field of lightweight alloy materials, particularly in the highly promising area of magnesium alloy. As a substantive beginning of the cooperation, Ka Shui Group has obtained a patent authorization from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry for a flame-retardant magnesium alloy with significant application value. This patent technology delivers outstanding results, and its industrial application will significantly enhance the performance and market competitiveness of related products:
• Authoritative Certification, Suitable for Aerospace Field: The flame-retardant magnesium alloy has passed the strict testing and certification of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, providing access qualifications and reliable guarantees for its application in aerospace and other fields with extremely high requirements for material safety performance.
• Excellent Process Adaptability: This material is particularly suitable for die-casting forming of large, complex, thin-walled structures, meeting the urgent demand for lightweight complex precision components in modern industries, especially in fields such as new energy vehicles, consumer electronics, and high-end equipment.
• Efficient and Stable Production: Fewer oxides will be generated during the processing, which not only improves material utilization and product yield but also makes the production process more stable and controllable.
• Significant Economic and Environmental Benefits: The material has a more advantageous comprehensive cost and displays the circular economy’s characteristic of 100% recyclability, in line with the concept of green and sustainable development.
• Enhanced Manufacturing Safety: The flame-retardant magnesium alloy significantly improves the ignition temperature of the material compared to ordinary magnesium alloy, delaying the process from heating to combustion under extreme conditions. This provides valuable time for safety response and handling production, processing, and subsequent application stages, fundamentally enhancing the safety of the manufacturing process and reducing potential risks.
In future, Ka Shui and the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry will jointly establish a R&D platform to work collaboratively in tackling challenges in areas of high-performance magnesium alloy new materials, advanced forming processes, and structural optimization design. They will accelerate the industrial application and transformation of multiple scientific achievements, including the flame-retardant magnesium alloy, to cultivate new growth points. Both parties believe that through complementary advantages and resource sharing, they will make positive contributions to the advancement and industrial upgrade of magnesium alloy material technology, jointly leading the future direction of lightweight materials.
